Engineering professor receives Canadian rheology award

Chemical and Biological Engineering professor Savvas Hatzikiriakos has won the 2014 Canadian Society of Rheology Stanley G. Mason Award. The triennial award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of rheology – the study of the flow and deformation of matter under applied force.

Hatzikiriakos is a distinguished rheologist who has lent his innovative expertise to companies such as DuPont, ExxonMobil and Chevron. He has published over 200 technical papers – three of which have won best paper awards – and with his students, published over 160 papers in journals and conference proceedings.
