UBC’s origami engineer speaks at TEDx

Ata Sina, a master’s student at UBC’s Pulp and Paper Centre, will speak at TEDxRenfrewCollingwood on October 25. Sina has found ways to express himself artistically throughout his career, developing his skills in acting, graphic design, and music. This balance of art and science inspires Sina’s current research which focuses on developing a novel method of creating complex self-folding 3-D paper products. This ‘origami engineering’ has the potential to serve as a new, sustainable material for product design. For more on Sina and to purchase tickets for his TEDx talk, click here.
