UBC startup nabs second place and $55,000 in B.C. new ventures competition

Aspect Biosystems Ltd, a UBC team developing a novel bioprinting system for the fabrication of 3D biological tissues, has been awarded second place in the BCIC-New Ventures Competition. Aspect beat out 140 other companies, winning $55,000 and the runner-up title. The Aspect management team includes four co-founders from UBC Electrical Engineering and the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation: Professor Konrad Walus, Sam Wadsworth, Simon Beyer and Tamer Mohamed, as well as an advisory group of business leaders from entrepreneurship@UBC.
