Psychiatry professor recognized with several awards

Professor Adele Diamond, Canada Research Chair in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at UBC’s Department of Psychiatry, has been recognized with several awards.

She received the Urie Bronfenbrenner Award for Lifetime Contributions to Developmental Psychology in the Service of Science and Society from the American Psychological Association. She was also named one of the 30 Most Influential Neuroscientists Alive Today by Online Psychology Degree Guide and “Health Professional of the Year” by the Women’s Radio Network.

Diamond’s work on the genetic disorder Phenylketonuria has changed medical guidelines worldwide and improved the lives of children and her series of papers on neurobiological and clinical differences in various forms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder are well-received by doctors and parents.

Diamond will give a TEDx talk on September 27 at the TEDxWestVancouverED. On October 1, she will give a brown bag luncheon talk at the White House. Click here for more information.
