Pharm Sci research team receives new CIHR funding

Larry Lynd, Conor Douglas and their research team at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences were awarded a two-year $235,801 CIHR Partnerships for Health System Improvement grant in partnership with the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research. Their project titled “Informing Future Orphan Drug Coverage with Scenario Studies (iFOCUSS)” will assess if the current drug coverage systems and decision-making processes are ensuring sustainable access to orphan drugs for rare diseases.

The grant will allow the team to explore through scenario study methods how such systems and processes will respond to current trends and future challenges relating to medicine, biotechnology, and economic funding arrangements. To read more, click here.
