Electrical and Computer Engineering prof receives Canadian Award in Telecommunications Research

Electrical and Computer Engineering professor Vijay Bhargava has received the Canadian Award in Telecommunications Research, a career award recognizing the contributions made by researcher in Canada in the field of telecommunications. Bhargava’s contributions in the 1980s were on error control coding and spread spectrum communications for terrestrial, satellite and other wireless applications. His current research interests are in wireless communications, particularly in resource management of 5G networks, multi-tier cellular networks, cognitive radio, cooperative and relay-based systems, and green communications. His work with spectrum and energy-efficient fifth-generation systems will likely be deployed around 2020. Click here for more info.
