Eighteen projects at the University of British Columbia have received more than $1.8 million in combined funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s John R. Evans Leaders Fund.
The UBC projects span investigations into vision and eye movement, to muscle fatigue, to biomass conversion and more.
“The Canada Foundation for Innovation’s investment in UBC and other Canadian universities supports and advances world-class research,” said John Hepburn, UBC vice president, research and international. “The funding enables our researchers to be on the cutting edge in their respective fields.”
UBC was among 37 universities across Canada to receive funding totalling $63 million, announced today by Greg Rickford, Minister of State (Science and Technology).
“Supporting Canada’s universities, colleges and research hospitals will bring more innovative ideas to market and strengthen the economy of our country,” he said.
