UBC’s Okanagan campus student Eric Huang has been praised on social news site Reddit and featured on the homepage of Forbes.com for helping a high-school student solve a computer programming problem. Nearly 550 comments, many from professional programmers, instructors and teachers, responded to how 18-year old Huang helped “a high school student to think like a programmer instead of doing his homework for him.” Huang began studies in the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences at UBC’s Okanagan campus this September. He hasn’t yet settled on a major and is interested in pursuing computer science or mathematics.
