UBC Nursing professors Sally Thorne and Pam Ratner have won awards from the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) to recognize their achievements in nursing research and education leadership. At a ceremony held in Ottawa, CASN presented the Excellence in Nursing Research Award to Ratner to recognize her accomplishments as a researcher, commitment to mentorship of nursing students, and contributions in strengthening the profile of nursing research. The Ethel Johns Award was presented to Thorne for her leadership in enhancing nursing education at the doctoral level and strengthening the quality of nursing education and the profession.
