On Saturday, May 25, media and the public are invited to join more than 4,000 alumni who will return to campus for UBC’s annual Alumni Weekend.

Highlights will include:

  • Honorary UBC alumnus Rick Mercer performing his hilarious talk, Canada: A Nation Worth Ranting About
  • Discussions with UBC faculty on issues like The Generational Spending Gap, UBC & the Hubble Space Telescope, Bikes with Benefits, and Getting a Grip on the ‘God Particle’
  • Screenings of the documentary Raising Big Blue about the journey of a buried blue whale from PEI to UBC’s Beaty Biodiversity Museum
  • Free tours of UBC attractions, including the Botanical Garden Canopy Walkway, the Beaty Biodiversity Museum, the TRIUMF Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics, and the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts
  • Family-friendly activities and games, including a Bug Lab Crawl, The Magic of Chemistry, and Salmon, Eggs & Fry – OH MY!
