UBC students win PVCC national entrepreneurship competition

Engineering students Jesse Neufeld, James Higgins, and Nicholas Petch and commerce students Vicking Yau, Douglas Lam and Braden Parker, won in the Entrepreneur Team category of the national Pacific Venture Capital Competition (PVCC).  Their UBC team, VanAir Solutions, beat out students from across Canada with their product, the Ventilated Door, which allows air to continually flow between rooms while remaining closed.

UBC team SoundIT won second place in the Entrepreneur Team category.  A third team, TrueForm Innovation, also competed. The UBC teams were formed from students in UBC’s New Venture Design course (APSC 486, COMM 466), which pairs upper-level engineering and commerce students to encourage interdisciplinary teamwork, innovation and entrepreneurship.  For more information, click here.
