UBC hosts 2013 Great Northern Toboggan Race

UBC will be hosting the 2013 Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race (GNCTR), an annual engineering competition held each winter at a Canadian university. This year, 23 teams of over 400 engineering students from across the country will compete, including members from UBC’s Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. To compete in GNCTR, each team must build a toboggan with a concrete running surface that can carry up to five teammates down a hill. Teams will compete to win shortest race time, best overall design, best team spirit, and best overall team. Races will take place Jan. 25 at Mount Seymour. For more info, click here.
