Two UBC students named Action Canada Fellows

Two UBC students have been recognized for their leadership and named Action Canada Fellows. Action Canada, a national organization that aims to create a network of skilled leaders for Canada’s future, recognized 17 emerging leaders across Canada in 2012/2013.

• Ben Paylor, PhD candidate researching cardiac stem-cell biology at UBC, uses filmmaking, animation and writing to promote public interest in, and understanding of, science.
• Andrew Pilliar, lawyer and board chair of a Neighbourhood House in Vancouver, is completing a Master of Laws at UBC to further his interest in improving access to civil justice.
