Indigenous Knowledges conference at UBC

An international conference titled “Indigenous Knowledges: Local Priorities, Global Contexts” will be presented by Ingrid Parent, UBC’s University Librarian and President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions.

This meeting is an opportunity for those interested in indigenous and traditional knowledge, and in local and global issues under discussion by cultural, heritage, and community groups and organizations.

Speakers and guests will include Grand Chief Ed John, Joie Springer (UNESCO), Pekka Heikkinen (Chief Legal Advisor, National Library of Finland), Kelly Moore (Executive Director, Canadian Library Association), and Eve Woodberry (Pro Vice Chancellor, University of New England).
