UBC Press author wins Edelstein prize

Joy Parr’s Sensing Changes: Technologies, Environments, and the Everyday, 1953-2003 published by UBC Press in 2010 has been awarded the Sidney Edelstein Prize by The Society for the History of Technology, an international scholarly society with 1,500 members from more than 35 countries. The prize is awarded to the author of an outstanding scholarly book in the history of technology published during the preceding three years.

The book was also awarded the 2011 Canada Prize in the Social Sciences by the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences and shortlisted for the 2011 Sir John A. Macdonald Prize.
