UBC student wins silver in International Kodak film competition

UBC Bachelor of Fine Arts student Laura Good has won the silver award for Excellence in the Craft of Filmmaking in Canada for her third year film While I Breathe. The award includes a Kodak motion picture film grant valued at $4,000 and a $1,000 cash tuition award.

While I Breathe is an intimate story about two people affected by human trafficking and how one chance meeting together changes their lives forever.  Good wrote and directed the short film based on an experience during a class trip in Xi’an China in 2009.  The film was produced in part by a grant from the UBC Sexual Assault Support Centre.
