Event: UBC’s Faculty of Forestry is highlighting its efforts to develop sustainable forest management and conservation practices around the world. A tree planting ceremony will be held with B.C.’s new Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and the Consuls General of both India and China.

The United Nations has declared 2011 as the International Year of Forests and March 21 is World Forestry Day. University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Forestry has a long history of working with countries around the world to develop sustainable forest management and conservation practices. The Faculty has been particularly active in working with India and China to improve forest management in these countries.
Media are invited to attend a tree planting ceremony, hosted by UBC’s Faculty of Forestry to celebrate World Forestry Day. Speaking at the event:
