More than 1,100 UBC students to attend 9th annual leadership conference

More than 1,100 student leaders at UBC will gather for one of the largest student development conferences at a Canadian university. 

The conference features an opening address by motivational speaker Drew Dudley, founder of Nuance Leadership Inc., and a closing keynote address from the four young men from Victoria, B.C. who developed the hit MTV show The Buried Life. Students will also get to participate in case study sessions, workshops and attend presentations by community leaders including:

• Cheryl Cran, Generational leadership expert and authour of the bestseller The Control Freak Revolution
• Dave Olson, marketing director for HootSuite
• Donovan Tidesley, paralympic swimmer and UBC alumnus
• Andrea Baxter, co-founder of Smart Cookies

Media are invited to attend the event and keynote speakers from The Buried Life will be available for interviews on Saturday between 2 – 3 p.m.
