Applied Science announces UBC Margolese National Design for Living Prize

UBC Faculty of Applied Science has announced the inaugural call for nominations for the UBC Margolese National Design for Living Prize.

The $50,000 prize will be awarded annually to a Canadian who has made outstanding contributions to the development or improvement of living environments for Canadians from all economic classes. The nomination deadline is Oct. 22, 2010.

A jury of international leaders from top universities and businesses, including Cambridge University, University College London and Baird Sampson Neuert Architects Inc., will select the first recipient of the UBC Margolese National Design for Living Prize, which will be announced early in 2011. The recipient will be invited to present two lectures at UBC, one open to the public and one specifically for current UBC students.
