UBC chemical engineer receives the pulp and paper industry’s highest honour

UBC Chemical and Biological Engineering Prof. Emeritus Richard Kerekes has received the 2010 Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) Gunnar Nicholson Gold Medal Award. It is the most prestigious annual award offered by TAPPI—the leading association for the worldwide pulp, paper, packaging and converting industries—and carries a cash prize valued at over US $60,000.

The award recognizes an individual who has created a pre-eminent scientific and engineering achievement that has proven of commercial benefit to the world’s pulp, paper, board and forest products industries.
