The Graduate School of Journalism at UBC knows how hard it is for working journalists to keep up with the ever changing environment of online tools and techniques that can enhance stories and make research deeper and quicker.

This year the J school has added online journalism pioneer Eric Ulken to its impressive roster of faculty and has asked Eric to lead a workshop designed to offer working journalists online tips, tricks, tools and techniques.

Eric was interactive technology editor at the Los Angeles Times, and been exploring online newsrooms throughout North America and Europe discovering how different newsrooms are using online tools.

You are invited to a free workshop to discover some of Eric’s favorite new tools, techniques and shortcuts.

The workshop will be Sunday, March 21, 2010 from noon to 3pm in the theatre at UBC Robson Square.

A flyer for the workshop has been included as an attachment. Please share this information with your colleagues and circulate the flyer around the newsroom.

Please note this is a free event with no advance seating so seating cannot be guaranteed.
