Creative Writing’s literary magazine celebrates 50 years

PRISM international, Western Canada’s oldest literary magazine published out of UBC’s creative writing department, is celebrating 50 years since its inception in 1959 by Earle Birney.  PRISM has been discovering and printing the work of nationally and internationally established writers including Margaret Atwood, PK Page (who sadly passed away last week), Ted Hughes, and Raymond Carver.

To celebrate, the PRISM editors are printing an extended retrospective edition for the winter issue to be launched today at Thea’s Lounge at UBC. This issue will highlight the works of Michael Ondaatje, Italo Calvino, and Seamus Heaney (in addition to the above writers) that PRISM has published.
