As world leaders prepare to meet in Copenhagen in an effort to produce a successor to the 1997 Kyoto protocol, a panel discussion at UBC will consider Canada’s role in crafting a new climate-change treaty.

Peter Dauvergne, director of the Liu Institute for Global Issues, will chair the discussion on the upcoming United Nations climate change negotiations, taking place Dec. 7-18.

UBC panelists will discuss the science of climate change, international negotiations and climate-change policy from the perspective of both Canada and a developing country. The panel will also consider what Canada can do about climate change.
