UBC doctoral candidate Laura Turner was awarded a Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) Award at the 24th Annual Congress of the European Economic Association (EEA) in Barcelona.
The award is given to the authors of the three best papers presented by young economists under the age of 30.
The prize-winning paper, Household Responses to Individual Shocks: Disability and Labour Supply, was co-authored with Turner’s supervisor, UBC professor Giovanni Gallipoli, and was funded by Canadian Labour Market and Skills Researcher Network.
The FEEM Award replaces the EEA Young Economist Award, which was awarded to Gallipoli in 2003.
