Blake is well known for his work on Canadian electoral behaviour,
including Two Political Worlds, which analyzes the political
behaviour of British Columbians.

Prof. James Brander, Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration,

Brander is a specialist in deficit, public finance, fiscal policy
and international trade policy.

Joanna Everitt, Sessional lecturer, Political Science Dept.,

Among Everitt’s interests are the gender gap in opinion on public
policy issues, media coverage of politics, and political and voting

A specialist in macroeconomics and natural resource economics,
Helliwell can provide a general view of the state of the economy
and its recent performance (not available May 6-20).

Prof. Richard Johnston, Political Science Dept., 604.822.5456

Johnston is the principal investigator of the Canadian Election
Study, which is analyzing the results of federal elections in 1988
and 1993 and the Quebec referendum of 1992.

Assoc. Prof. James Nason, Economics Dept., 604.822.5994

Nason, a specialist in macro and monetary economics, can provide
a general view of the state of the Canadian economy and its recent
performance.

Asst. Prof. Deborah O’Connor, School of Social Work, 604.822.5299

O’Connor has studied formal support services for family caregivers,
particularly those services aimed at reducing stress associated
with caregiving. O’Connor is keenly interested in proposals for
a National Home Care Program outlined by Health Minister David Dingwall.

Prof. Tom Ross, Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration,

Ross is creator of the Election Stock Market which predicted the
final outcome of the popular vote in the 1993 federal election with
great accuracy. The market is in the process of being redesigned
and will operate on a limited basis only leading up to this election.
