An Al-Jazeera story on Canada’s e-waste featured work done at UBC that extracts copper and other materials from discarded electronics.
The system developed by Amit Kumar, a UBC mining engineering PhD candidate, and mining engineering professor Maria Holuszko can be used by recyclers to reduce waste that goes to landfills.
