Vancouver hires Chief Resilience Officer to improve sustainability

Metro News quoted Penny Gurstein, a UBC professor in the school of community and regional planning, in an article about the hiring of a Chief Resilience Officer to improve Vancouver’s preparation for natural disasters and plan for transit and housing.

The position is funded by the Rockefeller nonprofit, 100 Resilient Cities. Gurstein said it would be ideal if the funding came from the government.
