UBC architecture students win Powell Street Festival competition

A team of UBC architecture master’s candidates won a competition to design an interaction-based structure for the 2017 Powell Street Festival, the Georgia Straight reported.

Arkgo Chen, Yilang Kang, Jivan Khera, Alex Laos, and Divine Ndemeye proposed an installation called Macro Maki, that allows festival attendees to wear pillow-sized sushi costumes and shoot selfies on a stage designed to resemble a huge sushi tray.
