Redshirting kindergarten: New data on when to start school

Breakfast Television Toronto published a Today’s Parent story quoting Charles Ungerleider, a UBC education professor emeritus, about data from the Toronto District School Board that suggests kids with late birthdays could start school a year late.

He said the literature seems to suggest that it’s beneficial to hold your child back from entering school if they would be younger than their classmates, particularly for boys.
