The Globe and Mail quoted Yves Tiberghien, the director of UBC’s Institute of Asian Research, for an article about Brian Mulroney and the federal Liberal government trying to win the release of a detained Chinese-Canadian billionaire.
Tiberghien said it does not make much sense for the prime minister to publicly champion the cause of a “murky financier.”
