The Tyee published an op-ed co-authored by Ruth Elwood Martin, director of UBC’s Collaborating Centre for Prison Health and Education and a clinical professor at UBC’s school of population and public health, and Carlos Magno Neves, a PhD candidate.
They wrote that Canada must treat incarcerated people as human beings by investing in programs and services that assist rehabilitation.
