Metro News interviewed Douglas Justice, the associate director of horticulture at UBC Botanical Garden, about how certain palm trees thrive in cold temperatures.
He said Chusan Palms, or Windmill Palms, are native to the mountains in Yunan, China and will live as long as ice doesn’t form at the tree tops where new growth comes in.
