Info scarce for jobs associated with pipeline expansion

Jim Brander, a UBC Sauder School of Business economist, spoke to the Globe and Mail for an article about the lack of information for unions who want their members to be involved in the planned expansion of Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipeline.

Brander said the perceived boost in job creation associated with such pipeline projects can be misleading because pipelines do not create new jobs, but recruit workers with specific skills who already had jobs.
