Thirteen per cent of festival deaths caused by alcohol, drugs

Researchers at UBC and the University of Victoria found that alcohol and drugs were a factor in 13 per cent of all reported music festival deaths between 1999 and 2014, and the majority of all non-traumatic deaths, Vice reported.

Most of the 722 fatalities studied around the world were caused by trampling, motor-vehicle-related deaths, and structural collapses.
