Vancouver to host next phase of ecstasy-assisted therapy trial

Metro News quoted Mark Haden, a professor at UBC’s school of population and public health and Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies Canada chair, about the expansion of a controversial experiment offering trauma therapy to patients on MDMA.

“They’ve accepted our Phase Two clinical data and said we don’t have to do more work,” Haden said. “A significant hurdle has just been crossed.”

Researchers aim to expand their six-patient trial to about 20 patients who have previously untreatable post-traumatic stress disorder.
