B.C. to fall short of 2050 greenhouse gas targets by wide margin

The Vancouver Sun reported on climate research analysis commissioned by the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, a group run jointly by UBC, the University of Victoria, and Simon Fraser University.

The institute was one of three groups that commissioned the research by Vancouver forecasting firm Navius Research.

Navius found that B.C. is on track to miss targets set for greenhouse-gas emissions in its Climate Leadership Plan. B.C.’s emissions will hit 66 megatonnes by 2050, which is eight megatonnes higher than emissions this year.
