Looking back at one year of Liberal Arctic policy

Radio Canada spoke with Michael Byers, the Canada Research Chair in Global Politics and International Law at UBC, about the federal Liberal government’s Arctic policy direction.

Byers said the sudden resignation of Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard Hunter Tootoo was a significant setback.

“The person who was essentially charged with a lot of Arctic issues all of a sudden was no longer in cabinet or even in the caucus,” Byers said.
