UBC field hockey dynasty grows larger

The UBC Thunderbirds women’s field hockey team won its sixth straight national title and 18th in its program’s history, The Province reported.

The latest win also gave UBC its 102nd overall national title.

Field hockey player Rachel Donohoe, a fourth-year kinesiology major from North Vancouver, was the co-winner of the U Sports women’s field hockey player of the year award, CBC reported.

Donohoe, who shared the honour with University of Guelph athlete Olivia Lane, returned to the UBC Thunderbirds after spending 2015 playing professionally in Germany.
