Emotionally vulnerable children on the rise in B.C.

CBC highlighted UBC research that found one in three B.C. kindergarten students are vulnerable in at least one area critical to their healthy development.

The findings are from the Early Development Instrument questionnaire data collected by UBC’s Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP).

HELP director Kimberly Schonert-Reichl said B.C.’s new school curriculum has social and personal competency elements that provide hope for the future.
