Parkinson’s app the latest from Surrey’s Innovation Boulevard

Surrey Now highlighted an app co-created by Martin McKeown, the director of UBC’s Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre.

The app, called CognitiaPD, is part of a large-scale Parkinson’s study that will assemble data using mobile games. Two simple games in the app test cognition – one focuses on attention by checking response time and the other tests memory.

“From the bottom up, we’ve designed something with Parkinson’s in mind,” McKeown said. “And if we were to sell it on the App Store, we foresee that money being folded back into Parkinson’s research.”
