Canada’s criminal justice system needs urgent reform

A report co-authored by UBC law professor Benjamin Perrin was featured on CBC.

The report, released by a public policy think tank assessed the criminal justice systems of every province and territory based on public safety, support for victims, costs and resources, fairness and access to justice, and efficiency.

“We have regular report cards on health care and education systems. They assess their performance, they tell us how well they’re doing and they have spurred necessary reforms,” Perrin said. “We thought it was high time to have a good, hard look at the justice system.”
