A Kamloops man has been charged for communicating with an underage girl online after being exposed by the vigilante group Creep Hunters, the Vancouver Sun & The Province reported.
“I think we’ll see the evidence challenged and ultimately charges being stayed or dropped. Some charges might stick, but the courts won’t accept vigilante justice as a substitute for dealing with this pressing social issue,” said UBC’s Ben Perrin, associate professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
