Why an outsized number of blondes are leading the U.S.

Huffington Post quoted Jennifer Berdahl, a professor at UBC’s Sauder School of Business, for a story on the disproportionate number of blonde women who hold powerful positions in the U.S.

The high number of blonde female CEOs plays into the stereotype of the dumb blonde, said Berdahl and co-author Natalya Alonso.

“If the package is feminine, disarming and childlike, you can get away with more assertive, independent and [stereotypically] masculine behavior,” Berdahl said.
