B.C. legislature convening to debate vacant home tax

CTV News published a Canadian Press story on the B.C. government addressing the housing issue.

Tom Davidoff, UBC’s director of the Centre for Urban Economics and Real Estate, said if the sole aim is to win the upcoming 2017 provincial election, the Liberals should be cautious about a housing market crash.

“I am not saying I think a crash is the most likely scenario, but it totally could happen, and if you have a weak energy sector combined with a crashing housing market, that would be a great way to lose an election,” he said.

The story also appeared in the Vancouver Observer and Castanet.
