B.C. shipbuilding education gets a $2.9M boost

Seaspan Vancouver announced a $2.9 million investment in the province’s marine industrial sector, CBC News reported.

UBC’s Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Masters programs will receive $2 million of that amount over the next seven years.

Seaspan made the donation as part of Ottawa’s 30-year National Shipbuilding Strategy. BCIT, Camosun College and the Canadian Welding Association also received $300,000 donations each.
