Medical pot users say clinical proof could help fight stigma

CBC News interviewed UBC medicine professor M-J Milloy who researches how Canadians are using cannabis as medicine.

Milloy told CBC that several small studies show how marijuana could be taken in place of opioids, treat cancer, and even shrink inflammation caused by HIV-AIDS and various other conditions.

“What we need now is human studies to really determine the effectiveness of cannabis for these conditions,” Milloy said.
