Vancouver has become the first city in Canada to regulate and license medical marijuana dispensaries.
A bylaw was passed Wednesday by Mayor Gregor Robertson, with the support of Vision Vancouver councillors and Green Party councillor Adriane Carr.
The new bylaw will charge dispensaries a $30,000 licence fee — and require shops to be at least 300 metres from community centres, schools and other dispensaries.
