Entrants may enter this contest by writing, in 100 words or fewer, about a student set to embark on an exciting adventure, job or project upon their 2014 graduation from UBC.

A variety of entry submissions will be selected to be featured on UBC News website in May 2014. Each selected submission featured will be complemented with a professional photo shoot of the nominee, and may include a short video profile.

3.1 The winner will be randomly selected on April 23, 2014, and will be announced on April 24, 2014 at approximately 12:00 p.m. PDT. Odds of winning depend on the number of Entrants.

4.2 The prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prizes are permitted except by UBC at its discretion. UBC reserves the right to substitute any of the prizes with other prizes of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Prizes are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part.

4.3 UBC may require winners, nominees, and other selected entrants to sign a liability/publicity release, including their consent to UBC posting the winner, nominee, and other selected entrants’ name and photograph on its website. If a winner, nominee, or selected entrant fails to return the contest documents within the time specified by UBC, s/he will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected.

5.1 By participating in this contest, each entrant, nominee, and winner agrees to: (a) be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of UBC; and (b) release and hold harmless UBC, and its Boards of Governors, officers, employees and agents from and against any and all liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs and expenses (including lawyer’s fees and litigation expenses on a solicitor and own client basis) whatsoever to which any of them may become subject arising from any actions or omissions by the entrant, nominee, or winner, as applicable.

5.2 By participating in this contest, each entrant, nominee, and winner agrees that UBC may post their name or image on its website.
