Terry Fox Foundation supports UBC research into aggressive leukemia

A team led by Keith Humphries, professor in the Division of Hematology at UBC, has received $5.9 million over five years from the Terry Fox Foundation to find new ways to treat aggressive forms of leukemia by rapidly creating and using laboratory models that mimic acute leukemias in humans.

Members of the research team include Connie Eaves, professor of Medical Genetics and Vice President, Research at the B.C. Cancer Agency; Aly Karsan, professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; Andrew Weng, associate professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; and Martin Hirst, assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
